This Autumn, I invite you to come home to yourself: to rest and to reconnect. In the beautiful setting of The Trees we’ll be cozy together while we move through a deeply restful day. Our practices will support our deep rest that in turn will help us to connect with ourselves, community, nature and our awareness of belonging within the fabric of all.
We’ll have yoga in the morning followed by lunch and free time to do exactly what you need to do mid-day. In the afternoon we’ll enjoy a Forest Bathing session with the wonderful Elizabeth Newman, who is a Forest Bathing Guide certified by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. Forest Bathing is a slow sensorial experience of being in nature. Unlike a hike or a naturalist exploration, Forest Bathing allows you to spend time moving slowly and observing nature under the trees. There will be simple invitations to experience the woods through your senses, allowing you to slow down, restore yourself and connect with the natural world. No skill required.
This day will be a real treat that is intended to give you the tools for a more restful and connected holiday season and early Winter.
You can expect:
Time to arrive and settle into this beautiful venue with a cup of tea and light snacks.
A short opening circle to help us come together as a group, focus our intentions and to create safe and sacred space for our day.
A short introductory talk exploring the theme of rest and reconnection to help us frame the work for the day.
A 90 – 120 minute all levels yoga class. All movement aimed to help us access deep rest
A guided deep rest meditation called yoga nidra.
Plenty of time to luxuriously savor our potluck lunch and walk the grounds, rest, journal, pick a goddess card, visit and do whatever you need.
An afternoon session of forest bathing led by a certified forest bathing facilitator.
Self-care techniques you can take home and put immediately to use!
Total support to do what feels right and supportive to you – it’s your day!
Although I have learned so much through books in my life, sometimes you just need the human teacher/guide! I'm glad that I got to chat with you before we moved so that I could continue to pursue this new path with enthusiasm and dedication. You offered a wonderful introduction to the practice.
